Welcome to the UNISTAR Online Course
Dear participant,
Welcome to the large-scale test course of the UNISTAR Online Course for university staff working with refugee students.
This on-line course is aimed at building your knowledge of refugees, asylum, migration and statelessness and providing you with a better understanding of the challenges facing refugee students.
You will learn practical and pedagogical approaches which may be useful for your work with refugee students on your campus.
Click on the Module descriptions below and enrol by hitting the 'enroll now' button on the bottom right of each Module description.
Please also send an e-mail to course administrator Frederik Smets smets@unhcr.org so we can stay in touch with you during this large-scale test.
This page will give you the opportunity to use and test the UNISTAR Online Course and to provide feedback to the course's contents and usability. The UNISTAR course developers will use your feedback to improve the course. The final version of this course will be made available as a free training resource for university staff in 2022.
You can enrol for maximum four Modules, each with a different thematic focus. The time needed varies from Module to Module - click on the Module descriptions below to find out more. Your workload will of course be larger if you enroll in more than one Module. We anticipate, however, that six weeks will allow you to plan for coursework in addition to your professional activities on campus.
